CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING

In pursuit of our goal to develop each child’s full potential, our team of psychiatrists, nurses, counselors and case managers work with parents to help improve each child’s family, social, educational, and psychological functioning.

Eligibility/Admission Criteria

  • Children under 18 years of age experiencing emotional or behavioral problems.
  • Referrals may come from Department of Juvenile Justice, State Attorneys Office, Family Support Services, Department of Children & Families, Nassau County School Board, Department of Health, Private Physicians, and others.
  • Upon admission each person will receive a bio-psychosocial assessment to determine the presenting problem, diagnosis, and recommended treatment.

Goal:

  • The Goal of Children’s Mental Health services is to equip families with the necessary tools to meet a child’s special needs, while at the same time providing the child with the coping strategies needed to lead a healthy, productive life.
