The Substance Abuse Program provides Intervention and Treatment Services to adolescent residents of Nassau County who have an identified substance abuse problem or who may be at-risk for a substance abuse problem.
Eligibility/Admission Criteria
To be eligible for this program an individual must have a diagnosis of a Substance Abuse Disorder or have been determined to be at-risk for substance abuse problems and be high functioning (developmentally disabled are ineligible).
Individuals can be referred by Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Children & Families, State Attorney's Office, Family Support Services, Nassau County School System, Nassau County Teen Court, parents, and self, etc.
Referrals are accepted from all sources, but a client must voluntarily schedule an initial appointment.
Upon admission each person will receive a bio-psychosocial assessment to determine the presenting problem, diagnosis, and recommended treatment.
