The program is designed to provide consistent, high quality, outpatient psychiatric treatment and patient medication education. This includes psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and medication.
Eligibility/Admission Criteria
All patients must first be admitted to the agency through our mental health or substance abuse departments prior to being referred for psychiatric services unless referred directly from their private physician or psychologist and have a private pay source. Patients who have a diagnosed mental illness which is treatable with medications will be referred for a psychiatric evaluation and treatment recommendations.
Patients under the age of 18 require the participation of a parent or guardian. The family members of all patients may be involved in the program. The patient who desires his family to be involved gives written consent. If the patient desires family members to accompany him for treatment, that is encouraged.
Clients are self-referred or are referred from outside sources. Sutton Place Behavioral Health receives referrals from several in-patient psychiatric facilities in the surrounding area, private physicians, the court system (DJJ, DOC), the department of health and the school system. We work closely with the schools to assist in the early diagnosis and treatment of children.
