ADULT GROUPS

ADULT SA OUTPATIENT: Outpatient treatment is designed to help those people who are experiencing negative consequences due to alcohol or drug use and may have already developed a dependency. Persons are expected to attend group therapy twice a week, AA/NA meetings weekly and individual and family therapy as needed. The average length of the program is 4-6 months. 

AFTERCARE: This group addresses the issues of relapse prevention and challenges of continuing to live a drug free lifestyle. 

CO-OCCURRING GROUP: Adults suffering from a substance abuse problem and a mental health disorder will learn how to recognize the two distinct conditions, how they interact with each other, and to develop an understanding of the role medications have in their recovery.  

INTERVENTION GROUP: This group is designed for people at risk of developing a lifestyle in which alcohol and/or drug usage could cause problems with family members, employers or law enforcement. Groups are held once a week for an average of 12 weeks. 

PARENTING IN RECOVERY: Designed to help parents who have substance abuse problems learn new strategies to effectively parent children while in a recovery program.

PARENTING TEENS APPROPRIATELY ( PTA ) - Parenting Teens Appropriately is a psychoeducational support group for parents. Parents will learn research proven methods to appropriately discipline their children. Parents will also have the opportunity to express their frustrations with parenting and learn what has worked/not worked for other parents within group.

RX GROUP: This group will learn the risks of the overuse of prescription drugs, learn about the most commonly abused prescription drugs with other substances. Unintentional abuse and deliberate abuse are discussed and how dependency can develop during a standard course of medical treatment. 

WOMENS SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM: A comprehensive program designed for women who have identified substance abuse problems. Program offers services that address mental health/psychiatric needs, as well as a parenting component, and referrals for vocational, educational, housing and other needs.  Target population is pregnant women, women with dependent children, and women whose children have been removed from the home due to abuse or neglect. Groups are available in the daytime and evening.
