Adult Substance Abuse
The Substance Abuse Program provides Intervention and Treatment Services to adult residents of Nassau County who have an identified substance abuse problem or who may be at-risk for a substance abuse problem.
Adolescent Substance Abuse
The Substance Abuse Program provides Intervention and Treatment Services to adolescent residents of Nassau County who have an identified substance abuse problem or who may be at-risk for a substance abuse problem.
School Based Prevention Program Our school-based substance abuse program serves middle, and high school-aged adolescents. To be eligible for this program an individual must be attending school, have been determined to be at-risk for substance abuse problems, and meet specific admission criteria for the program at their school. Individuals can be referred by teachers, guidance counselors, parents, self and other students.
Outpatient Detox and Medication Assisted Recovery Services
Outpatient detoxification is not only safe and comfortable, it is very convenient. Starting Point offers outpatient detoxification services for opiates and medically-managed alcohol recovery for individuals who may be suffering mild to moderate Post-Acute Withdrawal (PAW) symptoms or for those with a history of relapse and continue to be at high risk for relapse. All medications are administered after a comprehensive history and physical is conducted. The medications, in combination with counseling and mutual support groups, help people to remain alcohol-free.
Offender Education and Support Program We offer a wide variety of offense specific cognitive behavioral services in Nassau County. The services are delivered in a one-day seminar format. Our seminar based-educational services to offenders include: managing emotions and impulse control, misdemeanor charges, felony, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, shoplifting, bad checks, and behavior modification.
