Ashley Orie Named 2024 Peer Hero of The Year by Peer Support Coalition of Florida
Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare proudly announces that Ashley Orie, Lead Peer Specialist for the Medicated Assisted Recovery (MAR) Program, has been named the 2024 Peer Hero of The Year by the Peer Support Coalition of Florida.
The Peer Hero of The Year Award is one of the highest honors given by the Peer Support Coalition of Florida. Each year, the Coalition recognizes a peer specialist who has gone above and beyond in their efforts to advocate for recovery, reduce stigma, and offer peer-led support.
For many, overcoming substance use disorders is not just a medical challenge, but also an emotional and social journey. Peer specialists like Ashley, who have experienced recovery themselves, bring a unique and empathetic perspective to the table, building trust and providing much-needed emotional support. This award celebrates her ability to connect with individuals on a personal level and guide them through their recovery process with compassion and understanding.
“Being recognized for my strength, after emerging from such a low point in my life is an empowering and enriching experience,” said Ashley Orie. “This award is more than a personal achievement; it reflects the collective efforts of the entire team at Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare. Together, we are building a resilient recovery community, one person at a time. I want to acknowledge and celebrate all those I’ve encountered who remain unwavering in their commitment to change their lives. Recovery is possible.”
