BEING WELL, STARTING NOW
Our very own 'Being Well, Starting Now' provides a space for behavioral healthcare experts and community members to come together to discuss the effects of mental health and substance use issues. It was established during the COVID-19 pandemic as a virtual safe space for individuals to share their thoughts, feelings, and coping mechanisms.
TEEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Teen Mental Health First Aid teaches high school students how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use issues in their friends and peers.
Starting Point's Community Conversations offers presentations to the community about SPBH services, specific programming, and mental health and substance use issues. Community Conversations was established to educate and engage the community on a range of behavioral health topics including autism, suicide, opioid addiction, digestive health, veterans’ health and well-being, and many more.
MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID
Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour training certification course that teaches community members to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training develops skills to provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, or experiencing a crisis.
