Your Voice Matters: Join Our Community Advisory Committee

At Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare, we believe the best way to understand what our community needs is to listen to the people who live in it.

Our Advisory Committee brings together community members who want to help shape the future of behavioral health services and offerings in the county. Committee members share their experiences, perspectives, ideas, and insights about the challenges and needs they see and/or experience in our community.

Why Does the Advisory Committee Matter?

Behavioral health and recovery support needs are constantly changing. What works for one community may not work for another, and those who live, work, and raise their families here have valuable insight into what is needed and wanted by various community members.

Our advisory committee helps us:

• Identify emerging behavioral health needs and community concerns

• Better understand barriers people face when seeking support

• Share ideas for programing, services, and community outreach

• Provide feedback on how we can better serve our community

• Strengthen connections between Starting Point, the people we serve, and Nassau County as a whole

You Don't Have to Be a Behavioral Health Expert

You don't need a professional background in mental health or substance use to participate.

 We want to hear from community members with different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Whether you've interacted with behavioral health services, care about the well-being of your community, are in recovery and want to help others in their journey, work with local organizations, or simply want to make a difference, your voice can help us better understand what our community needs.
