BEING WELL, STARTING NOW

Being Well, Starting Now is a monthly webinar series providing a space for behavioral healthcare experts and community members to discuss the effects of mental health and substance use issues. It was established during COVID-19 as a virtual safe space for individuals to share their thoughts, feelings, and coping mechanisms.

TEEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

Teen Mental Health First Aid teaches high school students how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use issues in their friends and peers.

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS

Community Conversations offers presentations to the community about SPBH services, specific programming, and mental health and substance use issues. Community Conversations was established to educate and engage the community on a range of behavioral health topics.

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID (MHFA)

MHFA is a training certification course that teaches community members to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training develops skills to provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT GROUPS

FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP

The Family Support Group is a bereavement group for family members and friends who have lost a loved one to suicide or overdose. The group is an open support group, facilitated by mental health professionals. The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 5:30-7 PM at The Journey Church.

TEENS SUPPORTING TEENS

Teens Supporting Teens is a skills and support group intended for teens ages 14-17. The group provides a safe space for teens to discuss any challenges they are facing and connect with others who can relate to and understand their experiences. Each of the 8 sessions covers a different topic related to common sources of teen stress and helps the participants develop the skills to cope with these issues.
