Yulee, FL: On March 9th, the Plantation Ladies Association of Amelia Island honored Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare as their designated March Charity with an award in the amount of $1,250. The beneficiary of this award is selected by the Plantation Ladies and identified as a well-deserving nonprofit organization that is making an impact in Nassau County, FL.

“We are humbled and honored by this award from the Plantation Ladies,” says Laureen Pagel, CEO at Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare. “As the guest speaker at the March 9th luncheon, I was able to meet the incredible group of women that make up this organization. They are dedicated community members making a big impact. It was a great pleasure to represent Starting Point and we are always thrilled to inspire new behavioral health advocates.”

“The Amelia Island Plantation Ladies is a group that strives to learn more about and financially assist non-profits in Nassau County,” says Peg Dalton Kolasa, Out Reach Chair for the Amelia Island Plantation Ladies Association. “For our group, Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare stood out in their compassionate and comprehensive care for those with mental health and substance use disorders. Having Dr. Pagel speak so eloquently about her organization was both fascinating and eye-opening. We are very honored to aid in a small way to this most meaningful work.”

The award was presented at the Plantation Ladies Association of Amelia Island’s March Luncheon hosted at the Golf Club of Amelia Island. Local nonprofits are invited to submit a letter of intent by invitation only. The Plantation Ladies then review all applications and select the designated charity to honor at their quarterly luncheon.
