YULEE, FL — Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare is proud to shine a spotlight on two remarkable team members, Amanda Padilla and Kylie Cotto, who were recently honored for their outstanding contributions to the mental health and recovery communities. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others reflect the heart of Starting Point’s mission.

At the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Summit held in Philadelphia on May 4, Amanda Padilla, Prevention Coordinator and Teen Mental Health First Aid Instructor, was named the Teen MHFA Instructor of the Year by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Amanda’s award celebrates her tireless efforts to empower young people in Nassau County with the tools and confidence to care for their own mental well-being and support their peers.

“We are beyond thrilled to see Amanda receive this national recognition,” said Kathy Talavera-Moore, Prevention Supervisor at Starting Point. “Her passion for youth mental health shines through in everything she does. She’s not only changing lives—she’s shaping a stronger, more compassionate community for all of us.”

Closer to home, Kylie Cotto has been named the 2025 Rising Star by Floridians for Recovery as part of their Ambassador of Recovery Awards. This honor recognizes individuals who are leading with heart and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those on the path to recovery. Kylie’s work is grounded in the values of strength, resilience, and empowerment—qualities she models each day in service to others.

“Kylie is a light in our recovery community,” said Sarah Smith, Director of Grants Management at Starting Point. “Her empathy, encouragement, and unwavering support inspire hope in everyone she meets.”

These recognitions are a heartfelt reminder of the power of compassion and community. At Starting Point, we’re honored to walk alongside people like Amanda and Kylie—who remind us every day that healing happens when we show up for one another with care, courage, and commitment.
